I have lost count of how many times I have sat down to blog, but every time I do, a distraction flows by, or I just can't find words to describe all that's happened since the last time I've written.
How many memories were made, laughs were given, smiles were taken(as a photographer point of view =) ) how many tears were shed.
Another year is flying by, and I have no way of stopping time.

Summer was busy as ever, seemed busier this year though. My next summer at the zoo, the hustle and bustle of city folk, as they experience, a close reaction with the animals, sure its okay for the first few weeks, then its wear's off on ya, lol their screams when a goat gets out, or when a lory parrot lands on their shoulder. When you hear over and over and over again "Hump Day"as they approach the Merlin,the camel, or when they ask you, why doesn't the animal have water, when their water dish is right in front of them, Although there are those that really really appreciate the animals, who thank us for giving the animals a good home, for loving them so, for taking such good care of them. Those moments when you offer to take the picture of the family so the parents isn't missing in it. when they review it, how excited they are, when they realized you get the wolf, or camel in the back round!
This is Jewls, she is one of my favorites here at the zoo

Poor little thing, has seizures,once in a while, when she does, she is takin' down to the lab, and watched for 24 hours, with care. Then she's fine. put back outside where she loves. Don't worry, seizures are common, like kids are prone to ear infections, some animals and people, sometimes are prone to seizures. When it happens, you just let them seizure, make sure they wont hit anything as they do it. Sorry I am probably boring you, did I mention I'm a vet student? haha yeah, not surprised, lol many aren't when I tell them...anyway..
Being a vet student I have the opportunity with working with the sick animals, going to vet with them, or treating a minor there at the zoo. I love it!being able to help them, although sometimes it gets sad. );
This summer I did a bunch of wild animal shows, where I talked to kids, and families, about the different animals. The baby alligator is one, I as a display!
Tears are often shed at the zoo,from us keepers, as we loose a
loved one. One bad thing about working at the zoo, is the attachment, made with each animal. To a point when, we loose one, it breaks us. Svenlee Burge, out little Miracle Baby, died unexpectedly. ):
Mourning for us, is not very long, for the other animals, need our attention. Soooo, we keep going.
Then Winter comes....
the peace and quiet of the woods, covered in fluffy white snow, just you and the animals, can't get any better. My job is like no other,opportunities approach like no other, the close contact you get with each special creature, God's creation. Learning their likes, dislikes, their characteristics. Yes, believe it or not, animals have them too. Each one is different. I love my job haha!
